It's hard to capture my Dad's life in a few moments, so I want to share an observation and a brief story.

When I was growing up, my Dad was definitely not a couch potato.  He didn't tinker or do home repairs and he didn't have hobbies, but he was active and engaged in a wide variety of experiences.  The experiences included us, whether it was travel, sporting events, live theater performance, opera, circus, fine dining…it could be anything.  My Dad enjoyed nothing more than sharing experiences with his family.  My Dad was fortunate to have a life full of happy experiences and he never missed out on anything he wanted to do.  Many of the experiences I most enjoy today I was first introduced to by my Dad. 

When my Dad was growing up, he was on his own a lot.  He went to all day movies which showed several different films and newsreels.  He also went to after school programs where he was part of a basketball team called the Mohawks.   He had such pride and fond memories of the Mohawks.  I remember when he showed me his uniform, which is probably somewhere among his most cherished possessions.  So, in honor of my Dad, I want to end by saying Go Mohawks.
