It’s with heavy hearts and loving memories we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather — a proud Brooklyn man who never saw any reason to leave the borough he called home.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, he stayed exactly where he belonged. Why travel the world when everything worth knowing was already right there? He knew every street, every shortcut, every neighbor — and had strong opinions about all of it.
He was a man who liked to yell. He yelled about parking (“How is there never any parking on this block?!”). He yelled about people ringing the doorbell (“Why are they ringing twice? I heard it the first time!”). He yelled about the weather, the traffic, and how things were done better years ago. But behind the volume was a man with a soft heart and deep devotion to his family.
As a husband, he was steady, loyal, and always present — even if he was occasionally present while loudly commenting on something. As a father, he gave advice freely and often, making sure his children were prepared for life (and aware of proper parking etiquette). As a grandfather and grandfather, he found his greatest joy. His grandchildren knew that his booming voice usually meant love, pride, or that someone left the door open too long.
He was a good man — honest, hardworking, protective, and deeply committed to those he loved. He may never have left Brooklyn, but he built a life rich in family, tradition, and stories that will be retold — probably at full volume — for generations.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, his loving children, his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a neighborhood that will seem a little quieter without him.
In his honor, please circle the block one extra time looking for parking, ring the doorbell only once, and don’t be afraid to speak your mind.
He will be deeply missed more than words — or volume — can express and forever loved.
