George G. Bissell

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our beloved father, George G. Bissell. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he was well known and loved by his friends and neighbors. Our dad enjoyed singing, dancing, and vacationing with his family. He was an avid New York Mets and Giants fan and loved watching the games.

He leaves behind his wife, Muriel; daughters Nancy (Joseph) Gray, and Jean (William) Finn; granddaughters, Kristin and Kaitlin; and grandsons, William (Isabella) and Brian.

A visitation for George will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Joseph G. Duffy, 255 Ninth Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215. A mass of christian burial will occur Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church-Brooklyn, 2805 Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11218. An interment will occur Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11792.
