Jack served our country in the Navy, and came home to Brooklyn to work the piers for 45 years. He loved his Brooklyn neighborhood, and walked miles every day after retirement, meeting friends, running errands, or walking his dog. Jack knew every shop owner, new neighbors were made welcome & old friends were cheered. He had a funny or kind word for all.
Jack had an artistic side, making unique clay figurines, and a love of holiday decorations - the passing seasons were always marked by the changing light displays at Jack’s house.
Years ago, he & Jeanie’s door was always open, and family & friends were always welcome. Whatever you needed, comfort or cheer, food or a drink, you found at their home.
Beloved husband to the late Regina (McNiff) for 60 years, loving father to John ( late Eileen) (Maria), Kathleen O’Grady (Frank), Michael (CathyAnn), and doting grandfather to seven: Michael (Pam), Courtney, Thomas (Christine), Kevin, John, James, and Meaghan. Jack was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren, Lily, Teddy and Charlotte.
Jack will be missed by so many, for his easy going spirit, and generous nature.
