Michele Iacono

Michele ("Mike") Iacono of Brooklyn, NY died November 3, 2017 at the age of 86. Mike is survived by his brother and sisters, Aniello Iacono, Filomena D'Abundo and Rosa Migliaccio; his daughter, Antonia and her spouse Vincent; his son Joseph and his spouse Gina and their children, Elizabeth and Melissa. He is predeceased by his spouse, Anna and his parents, Giuseppe and Colomba Iacono. He leaves behind many cherished relatives including Nick and Louise Calise, Lenny and Marie Calise, Bridget Mattera, Helen Calise and many nieces, nephews and their families both here in the US and in Italy, as well as dear friends Aldo and Teresa Letteriello and their families. Mike came to the United States from Ischia, Italy and settled in Carroll Gardens Brooklyn. In 1967 he moved his family to their first house in Gravesend Brooklyn. He had only 2 jobs in his working career first as a barber and then as a factory foreman at Virginia Dare Company where he retired. Mike was a devoted husband, father,grandfather and a friend to many. He loved tending to his garden of tomatoes, basil, grapes and figs. One could always catch him playing a game of solitaire or watching Fox News and would always be greeted with his beautiful smile. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Monday November 6th from 3 pm to 8 pm at Cusimano and Russo Funeral Home at 2005 West 6th Street Brooklyn, NY 11223. Funeral Services will be held at 9:45 am on Tuesday November 7th, 2017 at St. Simon and St. Jude Church at 185 Van Sicklen St. in Brooklyn. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, 500 25th Street Brooklyn, NY 11232
