

Milton Green was born April 10, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Carethea and Sinclair Green. He was the fourth of five children and the last surviving child. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Leroy Hedgepeth, Emmanuel Green, Sinclair Green and Isabel Soto. He was raised in Brooklyn and completed his education l at Eli Whitney High School. After high school he enrolled in the United States Army.
At the age of 21, Milton married the love of his life, Anna Green, from this August union, they produced 3 daughters, Donna, Joann and Millie. Milton loved his family and was very protective of his girls. He was committed to being very active in his girls lives and ensured they were always involved in extra curriculum activities and community events. He loved to explore different restaurants, Broadway plays, many trips to Coney Island, trips to Boston and Canada. He enjoyed being with his family and exposing them to many different cultures. His proud moments were experiencing and witnessing his girls evolve into women with positive impact on their families and communities.
In addition, to his three girls. It was later found that during his time in the army while in Germany, prior to his marriage with Anna, he fathered Birgit Smith Burton.
Milton retired from Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) after more than 25 years of service. He started his career as a custodian and worked his way up to a motorman. He was very committed to is job and took many of his family members on rides to “drive” the train with him.
Deeply committed to his spiritual faith, Milton was a member of Sacred Heart Church for over 25 years. He was a very active member who enjoyed volunteering and participating in all major events. He was especially excited to be a basketball coach for their basketball team. In addition to being a member, he determined that this church offered a good education and provided for each of his girls the opportunity to attend Catholic School. He became a member of Little Zion Baptist Church in 1995 under the late Reverend Willie R. Bryant. He became a deacon in 1999. After the passing of Rev. Bryant, Deacon Green worked very closely with the new appointed Pastor L.A Ross. This relationship bloomed into a father/son relationship that Deacon Green held closely to his heart. As time progressed, Deacon Green became a pillar for the Little Zion Family. During this time, he took pleasure in visiting the sick and shut in. He became the head of the deacon board and took honor in serving the Lord with his church family.
He is survived by Daughters, Donna Laval and spouse Freeman Laval, NJ, Joann Smith and spouse V. Jesse Smith, CA, Millie Stallings, spouse Mario Stallings, NJ and Birgit Smith Burton, GA. 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
