Morton Abramowitz was born on August 20, 1921 in the Bronx, NYC to Emil and Hannah Abramowitz. Morton and his twin brother Albert and his older brother David were raised in Brooklyn. Morton served in the Army and upon his honorable discharge married his wife Roselyn Levine on April 23, 1944.
Morton was a tailor starting his career in mens haberdashery. He owned and operated dry cleaning stores.
Morton and Roselyn raised their two sons, Harvey and Jerome in Sheepshead Bay in their home on E. 28th st.
Morton was well respected by his customers, and all who knew him as a gentleman who went out of his way to meet their needs.
Morton leaves the love of his life Roselyn after 70 years of marriage, his son Harvey and his fiancé Ellen, his son Jerome and his wife Roxanne, and his grandchildren Ross, Scott, Corey and his wife Rochelle, and Erik and his wife Tanya, and his great-granddaughter Zoe Isabelle.
