

Antoinette (Nettie) DiCupillo (née Imbriale), 104 years old, of Brooklyn, New York passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2018. Born on June 10, 1913 in Brooklyn, Antoinette came into this world in a house on Carroll Street in Park Slope.
Nettie was the daughter of the late Luigi and Gaetana Montemarano Imbriale, the second to the oldest of seven children. She went to public school until her mid-teens and then started work as a seamstress in sweatshops for the garment industry. She was a member and officer in the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. Antoinette married Anthony DiCupillo in 1935 and had two children, Loretta and Anthony.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and made clothing for her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking and made delicious Italian meals into her late 90s. She was a kind and loving person, always reaching out to help family and friends throughout her life. As a member of Saint Francis Xavier Church, she participated in many events and was the President of the Senior Citizens center.
She was predeceased by her husband Anthony DiCupillo. Survivors include children: Loretta Morlano of Brooklyn, NY and Anthony DiCupillo of Middletown, NY; brother, Hank Imbriale of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren: Jo Ann Kraus, Anthony Tripi, John Tripi, Denise Martin, Danielle Hamel, Anthony DiCupillo, Jr.; nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Joseph G. Duffy Funeral Home, 255 9th St., Brooklyn, on Tuesday January 30, 2018, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm -9:00 pm.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, 6th Ave. and President St., Brooklyn, January 31st at 10:00 am followed by mausoleum placement at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to your local Hospice Organization.
