A Life Well Lived in Service
With profound sorrow and deep appreciation for a life of faith and service, we announce the passing of Pastor Joseph Maldonado, who went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2025, at the age of 72. Pastor Maldonado devoted 50 years of his life to ministry, touching countless hearts with his unwavering belief in God’s love and grace.
For 15 years, Pastor Maldonado served as the beloved pastor of the Lower East Side Fellowship, where he became a pillar of the community. His ministry was marked by a genuine love for people. Pastor Maldonado knew the challenges of life firsthand and responded with compassion, encouragement, and a steadfast commitment to lifting others up and spreading the love of Christ. His care for the souls of the neighborhood was evident in every service, every prayer, and every conversation. His impact extended far beyond the walls of the church.
"God is Able," was the mantra Pastor Maldonado lived by—his deep conviction that God’s power and grace were enough to overcome any obstacle resonated in every sermon he preached and in the way he lived his life. He believed in the redemptive power of faith, the possibility of transformation, and the importance of showing kindness and mercy, no matter the circumstances.
Pastor Maldonado leaves behind his loving family, his devoted congregation, and a legacy of faith that will continue to inspire those who knew him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the lives of those he nurtured and the communities he helped shape.
The Celebration of Life Memorial will be held February 23rd (2-6 pm- Service begins at 3 pm) at Lower East Side Fellowship, 293 East Broadway (inside PS134) NY, NY 10002, where we will gather to honor his extraordinary life and the eternal impact of his ministry.
"God is Able," and Pastor Maldonado’s life was a testament to the truth of those words.
