

On Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015, Morris Francis Greenidge departed this life at the age of 88. Known to all as "Norris", he was the 2nd of ten children born to the late Saville & Eldica Greenidge of Westerhall, Grenada. In his younger years he attended St. Dominic's School in Pedmontemps, then went on to become an employee of the Westerhall Agricultural and Live Stock Station and had a shop where he sold local goods.
Norris migrated to the United States in the 1960s, taking part in a program the employed persons from other countries as seasonal workers. While living and working in Florida, he met his wife Josephine, to whom he was married until her death in 2008. As a resident of Brooksville, Norris worked at the Rock Mines/Quarry for many years before retiring. During his retirement he sought activities that kept him busy and worked briefly as a school crossing guard and was once featured in the newspaper for the bond he had with the children he would see on a daily basis. Norris was also a member of the Brooksville Men's Club and was a Mason. In his later years, he became a resident of Heartland Nursing Home until his passing.
He is preceded in life by his brother Cosnell and sisters Veronica, Evelyn, Madonna, Sylvia and Agnes. Norris leaves to mourn, his son John Greenidge (Margaret), Four grandchildren: Michelle (Kevin); Johnny; Jeffery, Jennylyn (Jerome). Seven great-grandchildren: Jenae, Samesha, Maya, Jada, Samaya, Jamie and Jonte. Brothers: Dennis (Julie); Osbert (Veronica); Anthony (Angela). Sisters: Mary Greenidge and Theresa Nash. Brothers-in-law Robert Fingall and Joseph Jeremiah. Sister-in-law Gloria Greenidge and one uncle Julien Smith. 42 nieces and nephews, friends and family throughout Florida, New York, Georgia, New Jersey, Grenada, Guyana and Canada.
Whether he was being called “Grandpa Norris”, “Uncle Norris”, or “Daddy Norris” his presence will be missed by all.
