With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Malone (formerly Vadeboncoeur) on May 13, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital, at the age of 74.
A retired nurse, Linda devoted her career to caring for others at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Julius Richardson Rehabilitation Centre. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Whether she was exploring new countries, getting lost in a good mystery novel, or sharing stories with friends, she lived each day with purpose and enthusiasm. She found joy in the simple pleasures — a game of bowling, a bike ride or a brisk walk — and she thrived in the camaraderie of her exercise group and the thrill of skiing straight down the snowy slopes.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Carey Cooper (Dave), her devoted companion, Edwin Fernandez and son, Rob (Annie), her grandchildren Anderson, Cameron, and Zoë, her siblings Larry (Diane), Christine, Anne (Costa), her many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her brother, George (Suzanne) and her sister, Helen (Julius).
A special thank you goes out to the doctors, nurses, and support staff of the Emergency, Oncology, and Palliative Care departments of St. Mary’s Hospital for their great care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 15, 2025, at La Maison Darche, 7679 boulevard Taschereau, Brossard, QC J4Y 1A2.
