Brownsville, Texas- Andrew Jerrell Haney, aged 68, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Andrew was born on August 10, 1956, in Georgia and was a man whose quiet demeanor and few words belied the depth of wisdom and love he shared with those around him.
A man of exceptional character, Andrew’s life was defined by his passion for mechanics and his skill as a dedicated mechanic. His love for cars, motors, and all things mechanical was more than a profession—it was a true calling. He took immense pride in his work and found joy in the intricate details of machines, sharing his expertise with those fortunate enough to cross his path.
Andrew’s life was not only about his craft, however; he was also a man who found great joy in the company of others. He cherished his time at the adult daycare, where he formed lasting friendships, often spending hours engaged in spirited games of pool. Yet, of all the pleasures in his life, nothing was more precious to him than his family. Andrew’s greatest pride and joy were his four daughters: Tiffany Trejo (Israel), Stephanie Haney, Shawna Haney, and Traprina “Tinka” Bemis, to whom he devoted his heart and soul.
Andrew was preceded in death by his loving parents and his beloved wife, Deborah Haney, whose memory he carried with him always.
While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the fullness of his life—the wisdom he imparted, the love he shared, and the legacy of kindness and humility he leaves behind. A life that was rich with meaning, Andrew touched the hearts of many, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of his family and friends.
A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held at a later date. In honor of Andrew’s memory, he would have preferred, that we all take a moment to reflect on his life with love and gratitude.
Andrew may have been a man of few words, but his presence was profound, his love enduring, and his memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
