Arturo Gonzalez Jr.

Arturo was born in Houston, Texas to his parents Josefina De Leon Gonzalez and Arturo Gonzalez. Arturo grew up in Brownsville, Texas and graduated from Homer Hanna High School in 1977. He moved to and resided in San Antonio, Texas in 1982.

Arturo studied and obtained his nursing in LVN and RN degrees at St. Philip's College in San Antonio. He then worked at IHS and VA Hospitals in San Antonio.

Affectionately regarded as "Art and Gordo", he was a kind, compassionate man who lived an incredibly happy and colorful life which reflected his pride of his Hispanic heritage. His passions were his family, friends, fishing, music and his home with his Koi Fish.

Arturo is survived by his mother, Josefina De Leon Gonzalez, his sisters, Janie Gonzalez, Gina Gallagher, his brother, David Gonzalez and his niece and nephew Samantha and Michael Gonzalez.

We love and miss you; we will cherish our fond memories of you "Gordo".

Arturo will be taken home to rest in Brownsville and services will be on Saturday, August 12, 2017.

Mass will be held at 2pm at Holy Family Catholic Church 2405 E. Tyler St. Brownsville, Texas 78520.

Burial will be at 3pm at Buena Vista Burial Park 125 McDavitt Blvd. Brownsville, TX. 78521
