Aurora Covarrubias went home with our Lord and Savior on March 27, 2024 at the age of 83. She was born September 17, 1940 to Nolasco and Olivia Garcia. Aurora married the love of her life Felix on November 26, 1961. She loved working as a nutritionist that would visit families in their home to teach them how to prepare healthy meals. She cherished raising her three children Abel, Arturo, and Star. Her most treasured titles however, were those of Grandma and Great-Grandma. Above all else, Aurora loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Aurora was preceded in death by her parents, Nolasco and Olivia Covarrubias, and several brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Felix Covarrubias. Her mother in law Ramona Covarrubias. Her son Abel Covarrubias and wife Joanna. Son Arturo and wife Ruby. Daughter Star and husband Jamie. Her grandchildren Liz Strik, Shandy Sarchet, Wyatt Covarrubias, Bryce Martin, Evan Covarrubias, Enrique Alcantar, Brianna Alcantar, Day-rra Alcantar, and Jamie Alcantar Jr. Her great-grandchildren Gideon Otto, Alexis Otto, Zayne Sarchet, Corbyn Sarchet, Avery Arqueta, and Ezra Martin. Numerous brothers and sister, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Aurora also had a very special friend Emilia Lopez de Guerrero.
Pallbearers will be Wyatt Covarrubias, Bryce Martin, Evan Covarrubias, Jaime Alcantar, Jaime Alcantar Jr., and Serigo Garcia.
A visitation for Aurora will be held Monday, April 1, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 pm in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A church service will occur Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Christ The King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A burial will occur Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX.
