Celia Elena Reyna De Los Santos, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. Sally, as she was called, was born in Mission and lived most of her life in Brownsville, until moving to her son’s home in Pensacola five years ago.
She worked as a bookkeeper for thirty years, retired, and then found new enjoyment in being an assistant librarian at Longoria Elementary School for the next ten years. Her faith was very important to her; she was a Catholic daughter and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was a very active volunteer as a Lion and at the hospital gift shop.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Amando De Los Santos. She and her husband met at a dance and they continued to enjoy dancing throughout their marriage. They were such good dancers that they often “cleared the dance floor” as others preferred to stop and watch them.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Edna (Ray) Queen, son: Robert De Los Santos, granddaughter: Amanda (Aaron) Stevens, and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, from 11am to 9pm at Del Angel Buena Vista Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7pm.
Funeral mass will take place on Thursday, August 11, at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, followed by interment at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Del Angel Buena Vista Funeral Home. Dignity Memorial Provider
