Dolores Castillo of Brownsville, Texas passed away peacefully on Thursday 21st of April 2022 at the golden age of 100 years old. This amazing centenarian was born March 11, 1922 to Rosenda † and Abram Castillo † in Santa Fe, Gonzalez, Tamaulipas.
Affectionately known as Lolita, She moved to Brownsville for a better way of living in hopes to provide financial stability to her family back home. Throughout the course of her journey, Lolita met a wonderful couple, Alfonso and Juanita Peña, who took her in and embraced her in abundance as family. She lovingly became the living nanny of the couples children Alfonso Peña (Miriam), Adrian Peña, Aaron Peña (Emily), Lorena Ayala (Ray) and Liana Peña. She helped Mr. and Mrs. Peña raise her children and love them immensely. Dolores Castillo was compassionate, resilient, humble, and full of life. Rest in peace and thank you for all the hearts you touched.
Dolores was preceded in death by her father Abram Castillo † and her mother Rosenda Castillo †; her brother Santana Castillo †; her brother Alfredo Castillo of Mexico †; her brother Victor Castillo † and her brother Alfredo Castillo of Brownsville †.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Dolores will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
