

Polly was the beloved daughter of Domingo Reyes and Felipa Garza, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Domingo Reyes Jr.; her ex-husband, Pedro Castro Jr.; her late-life partner, Eliseo “Cheo” Garcia; and her dearly loved son, Jeffery Travis Castro.
She is survived by her loving children, Verniece L. Ramirez, Johnny Joe Castro, and Michael Charles Castro. Polly’s greatest pride was her family, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her grandchildren: Joe J. Ramirez, Stacey L. Hernandez, Ryan J. Ramirez, Kevin M. Ramirez, Johnny Joe Castro Jr., Aaron Castro, Nathan Jimenez, Michael C. Castro Jr., Karen Castro, Suzanne Castro, Derrick Castro, and Bradley Castro, along with several treasured great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is also survived by her siblings, Evangelina Rodriguez, Daniel Saldivar Jr., Narciso Saldivar, and Guadalupe “Peggy” Rocha.
Polly later made her home in San Antonio, Texas, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and love. She had a true gift in the kitchen and found joy in cooking for the people she loved—bringing everyone together with comfort, laughter, and unforgettable meals. She also worked for several years as a cosmetologist, a career that reflected her creativity and her caring nature, always helping others feel their best.
Polly will be remembered for her strength, her nurturing spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Funeraria del Angel Roselawn, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd., Brownsville, TX 78526, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited that evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., also at Funeraria del Angel Roselawn, with burial to follow from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
