Panchita was born on June 21, 1921, an only child who was raised by her grandfather, Ramon Escobedo. At the age of 14 she met the love of her life, Jose Rivera, and at 17 married her first and only love, on August 21, 1938. They were married for 46 years. Their love was an epic one and together they had five children. She was a loving mother and wife, a humorous grandmother, and a woman who constantly showed how to love not only by her words but by the actions that she did every day. She enjoyed spending time in her garden with her passion being her roses and orchids, cooking for others, especially her dog, and crocheting. She left her family with a million memories that we will always hold near and dear to our hearts to last a lifetime. We would like to thank everyone who made her final day’s one of rest; to the doctors, nurses at Safe Haven, thank you. Especially to her beloved granddaughter, Tanya Thirlwall who went far and beyond her abilities in loving her and taking care of her in her last week.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rivera.
Francisca is survived by her 5 children, Mona Garza, Juan Jose Rivera (Janey), Irene Yznaga (Roberto), Yolanda Leal (Roy), and Alma Thirlwall (Chuck); 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and her loyal and faithful companion her Maltese, London.
