

Mr. Rivera was married to his wife for 63 years. He worked for the Brownsville Compress for 10 years and for Marathon for 6 years also being a long term vendor at the 77 Flea Market.
Mr. Rivera is preceded in death by his father, Hermenegildo Rivera; mother, Maria Del Pilar Herrera; his brother, Alberto Rivera; grandchildren, Rogelio Jr. and Norma A. Garza; and his great-grandchild, Luis Andres Garza.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dora Elia Rivera; his children, Maria Garza (Rogelio), Rosalinda Zuñiga (Jose), Sylvia Murillo (Adan), Dora E. Moya, Francisco Rivera Jr. (Delia), Mario R. Rivera (Mary), Juan A. Rivera (Maria), Rolando Rivera (Vannesa), Gilda V. Murillo (Rene), and Celeste Rivera; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandsons; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Visitation will start today, Friday, October 18, 2013 from 10am-9pm with a rosary to be conducted at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A mass of resurrection will be taking place on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 1pm at Holy Family Catholic Church with committal service to follow at RoseLawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Garcia, Julian Moya, Adrian Moya, Francisco Rivera III, Kenny Rivera, Michael Rivera, Lee Roy Rivera, and Mario Ruben Rivera Jr.
