Gloria M. Longoria, 70 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, niece, nephew, close family and friends. Gloria was a faithful, loving wife to her husband of 46 years Ricardo Longoria, and gave her entire life to her four children, Ricardo Jr., Everardo, Rosalva and Melissa Longoria. Mrs. Longoria was a Brownsville H.S. Graduate of 1968, and a retired substitute/ para professional for BISD having retired after 20 years of service at Lincoln Park School where she was a Day Care Provider. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharist Minister most of her adult life.
Mrs. Longoria is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Amparo Martinez, brother Gilberto Martinez, Sister/Aunts Trinidad Contreras, Victoria Garza, Bertha Gonzalez, Carolina Abrego and her Uncle/Brother Pedro Martinez.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ricardo Longoria, children Ricardo Jr., Everardo (Liliana), Rosalva and Melissa. Sister/Aunt Olga Rodriguez, brothers Juan, Tomas and Victor Martinez, Sisters Beatriz Wilson, Marilu Zamora, Alejandrina Martinez, Maribel Martinez, Susana Zavala and Patricia Martinez. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren: Ruben, Jose, Brianna, Alberto, Sarah, Samantha, Franca, Debbie-Rose, Evelyn, Felipe and Miranda.
The Longoria Family would like to thank: Valley Regional Medical Center PCU and ICU Staff especially Rusty Beltran who made her final hours on this earth comforting to the entire family, Dr. Luis Robles, Father Aglayde Vega, Deacon Danny Herrera, City of Brownsville, Brownsville Event Center Staff, Brownsville Police Department, Del Angel Buena Vista, Emilio Raya, Rudy Rodriguez 421 Productions, DJ Roque and Ricardo Escamilla Cazuelas de REM for your generosity during this time difficult time.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-9:00 p.m. at the Brownsville Event Center (1 Event Ctr.) on Monday, March 25, 2019 with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.
Final viewing will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista 125 McDavitt Blvd. with a funeral mass Good Shepherd Catholic Church 2645 Tulipan St. at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as Pall Bearers will be: Ricardo Longoria, Jr., Everardo Longoria, Ruben Roman Jr., Alberto Alcalde, Sebastian Gallegos and Everardo Navarro.
