

entered into eternal rest on January 05, 2021 in Brownsville, Texas. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Lupe enjoyed playing cards and dominos with his friends. He enjoyed going to the casinos. Also traveling to Dallas, Florida, Arizona, and Houston.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by his father Ricardo Benavides, mother Rafaela Benavides, brother Carlos Benavides, and sister Olga Cavazos.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving and caring wife of 61 years, Dora Benavides, sons: David Gamboa, Roberto, Jaime Benavides, daughters: Elvia (Juan) Salazar; The Colony, Texas, Leticia Benavides, Yolanda B. (Robert) Maldonado; Homestead, Florida, Arlene (David) Longoria; Houston, Texas, brother Rafael (Mary) Benavides; Mesa, Arizona, sisters: Librada (Alejandro) Galvan, Estefana Abete, Silvia (Roy) Moran; all from Brownsville, Texas, Gloria (David) Rubio; Tolleson, Arizona, Rosalinda (Jerry) Sanford, Sioux City, Iowa, 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Visitation will begin Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 9 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Chapel Service will be held Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00 am followed by a burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family is very grateful and appreciated to Anita Garcia and her son Steven for the loving care given to "Lupe" during the very difficult days of his illness.
