He served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Primera Iglesia Presbiteriana Mexicana. He retired from the Cameron County Sheriff Department.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2035.
Mr. Cervantes is preceded in death by his wife, Martha E. Cervantes
He is survived by his 7 children, Hector, Arturo, Eric, Alejandro (Audrey), Marco (Liza), Albert, Cynthia Cervantes; his 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and his siblings, Ovidio Cervantes, Ninfa Oliver and Judy Chronis.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 20th, 2015 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Chapel Service will be held Saturday, November 21st, 2015 at 10:00am, followed by Burial at Buena Vista Burial Park.
