Jesus Martinez, age 73, beloved son, devoted brother and dear uncle was called to his eternal resting place on Friday, April 29, 2022. Jesus was born July 19, 1948 to Josefina Martinez † and Horacio Martinez †.
Jesus entered the world on July 22, 1948. He will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of having him in their lives. Also known as Chuy, he had a unique personality, a sense of humor like no other, strong opinions, and was passionate about life, but most of all he was passionate about his opinions.
Jesus served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He returned to serve the community working in law enforcement including Chief of Police at Rancho Viejo.
He will be fondly remembered by his sister Graciela Martinez †, his sister Pam Conejo and his sister Amalia Davis.
Jesus was preceded in death by his father Horacio Martinez † and his mother Josefina Martinez †; his brother Horacio Martinez †; his sister Paula Hamby †; his brother Ramiro Martinez †; his brother Arturo Martinez †; his brother Roberto Martinez † and his brother Rolando Martinez †.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephew, their children and countless friends. His courage, strength, and laughter will live on through them.
A visitation for Jesus will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Angels Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1218 E Jefferson, Brownsville, Texas 78520. Followed by a burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
