Jose was born in Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, and was raised in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated from W. H. Adamson High School. Through his travels, he developed a strong love for South Texas, which later became his home. Jose enjoyed music and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a hardworking man who loved life and lived it on his own terms.
Jose is survived by his daughters: Cynthia Marie Pequeno, Mellissa Ann Vargas, Claudia Garcia, Jennifer Garcia, and Maria Garcia. He cared deeply for his daughters and expressed his love in his own quiet way. He is also survived by his stepfather, Francisco Balderaz; his sisters, Maria Valentina Balderaz, Araceli Cedillo, and Griselda Balderaz Rodriguez; and his brothers, George Balderaz and Francisco De Jesus Balderaz.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Martinez, and his mother, Maria Isabel Garcia Balderas.
Jose M. Garcia will be remembered for his love of music, his strong work ethic, and the life he lived. He will be deeply missed and remembered by those who knew him.
