Norma Linda Hinojosa

Norma Linda Hinojosa (Lopez), lovingly known as Gramma to her four beautiful grandchildren, passed away at the age of 69 on Saturday, February 21st, 2026. Norma was born on January 9th, 1957, to parents Eduviges (Vicky) & Rogerio (Roger) Lopez. She was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas and devoted her life to her family.

Norma proudly followed in her father’s footsteps as an accountant in the Brownsville community for over 50 years. She was also an extremely dedicated mother and devoted her time to being the PTA President of Gonzalez Elementary during her daughters’ elementary school years.

She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but especially cherished her time with her grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her father, Rogerio (Roger) Lopez, her mother, Eduviges (Vicky) Lopez, and her loving husband, Douglas Hinojosa. She is survived by her daughters, Veronica Hinojosa, and Vanessa Ontiveros (son-in-law James Ontiveros) and her four grandchildren: Leilah Faye Ontiveros, James Douglas Ontiveros, Isaiah “Ike” Ontiveros, and Vivienne Rayne Ontiveros.

Momma, we will miss you so much, both you and dad. We truly cannot believe that you are gone but we find comfort in knowing that you are reunited with dad and rejoicing in Heaven together once again. Thank you for the endless amount of time spent driving Veronica to practices, games, and tournaments. You always paved the road to success with your support. Thank you for being such an amazing grandmother to your grandchildren. You loved unconditionally and wholeheartedly, and it never went unnoticed. Thank you for all the love, the fun memories, and thank you for being our mom.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 from 2:00pm-7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn.

A family friend will share heartfelt words of remembrance from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as we reflect and celebrate the life of Norma.
