passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
While attending Brownsville High School he was drafted by the US Army in 1950 and served in the Korean War until 1952. After returning from the Korean War he attended the University of Texas. Mr. Arteaga worked for HEB for 39 years and retires in 1994. He would attend Immaculate Conception Cathedral every Sunday. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his parents Maria and Rafael Arteaga, his daughter Norma Arteaga, his siblings Maria Reyes A. Perez, Rafael Arteaga, Alfredo Arteaga and Raul Arteaga.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Antonia Arteaga, son Charles Robert Arteaga(Maria Arteaga), grandchildren Anthony Arteaga and Alana Arteaga. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Roberto will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521. A chapel service will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as pallbearers are Rafael Arteaga, Alfredo Arteaga, Raymond Arteaga, Joe Ortiz, Jorge Ortiz, Nahum Arredondo and Jesse Arteaga.
