Roberto was a Sergeant in the US Army and served in the Vietnam War as a combat engineer. After working for 40 years as a certified public accountant, he went to work as a volunteer income tax preparer for five years.
Roberto is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Minnie Olguin Zamora; his son Roberto R. Zamora II (Teresa) from Arlington, VA; and his son Ryan A. Zamora (Misti) of West Hartford, CT; his sister Ofelia Cavazos(Alfonso †) of Brownsville, his sister Lucille Cantu (Anselmo) of Frisco, TX, his sister Genevieve Chavez (Fred) of Brownsville, his sister Esther Robinson (Scott †) of Plano, TX, his brother Ricardo Zamora (Theresa) of St. Louis, MO, his brother Manuel Zamora of Brownsville, his brother Rafael Zamora (Gertrudis) of Brownsville and his brother Rodolfo Zamora (Dora)of Mission; his two adorable grandchildren Dominic and Sofia.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Roberto was preceded in death by his father Manuel P. Zamora † and his mother Maria R. Zamora †; his brother Rolando Zamora † (Yolanda).
A visitation for Roberto will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the Blessing of the Body at 5:00 PM, Military Honors to at 5:30 PM, Rosary at 6:00 PM and a Eulogy at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
