Rosalinda, known to most by Rosie, was daughter to Rafael Lopez and Ignacia (Sierra) Lopez. Rosie’s home was Brownsville, Texas but she lived for a time in College Station, TX, Lubbock, TX and Olympia, WA.
Rosie was known for her incredible smile that filled any room and filled each person near her with radiance and joy. Her exceptional beauty was only eclipsed by her tremendous goodness of character. Rosie was kind, compassionate, giving, selfless, very funny, and devoted to family and friend alike.
For decades, Rosie dedicated herself to educating young minds as a schoolteacher in Texas and Washington, touching the lives of hundreds of students before her retirement from Brownsville Independent School District. Her passion for teaching extended far beyond the classroom as she truly loved her students and found joy in helping them grow and learn. Rosie also enjoyed traveling the world. Most of all, however, Rosie was crazy for her grandchildren, Christopher, Mya, Brandyn, Will, and Henry. She was a devoted mother and Nana and her children and grandchildren will miss her deeply.
Rosalinda is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Raquel and Dora, and brothers Rodolfo, Manuel, Francisco, Raymundo and Rafael. Rosalinda is survived by her husband, Ricardo Gómez Jr, her children, Krystal Marie Gómez (Matt Simpson), Ricardo Gómez III, devoted daughter-in-law, Chrystal Balboa, five grandchildren, and siblings, Pedro, Tomas, Eloisa, Olga, Elvia, and Maribel.
