Virginia Sepulveda Gonzalez

Virginia Sepulveda Gonzalez, 92, passed peacefully at her home in Brownsville, Texas. She was born in Reynosa, Tamps., Mexico on January 5th, 1925. She was the youngest of the girls of twelve brothers and sisters born to Bernardo and Guadalupe Sepulveda of Reynosa Tamaulipas. She had been a resident of Brownsville since 1956. She married her husband Manuel C. Gonzalez in 1942 in Reynosa, Tamps. They lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Fresno, Washington DC and Mexico City per her husband’s position in the Mexican Consulate. They had six beautiful children together and were married for 59 years until her husband’s passing in 2001. She is most remembered as the General Manager of the women’s designer clothing and accessories store, The Popular in downtown and Amigoland Mall in Brownsville. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the most important things in her life and brought her the greatest of happiness. She will be remembered as a generous and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Gilda E. Gonzalez of Las Colinas, TX, sons; Bernardo E. Gonzalez of Fort Worth, TX and Marcelino Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, TX, daughters-in-law; Sandra K. Gonzalez and Anita Gonzalez, grandchildren; Manuel C. Gonzalez, Vanessa N. Gonzalez, Bernardo A. Gonzalez, Marcelino Gonzalez and Melissa Gonzalez Brown, great grandchildren; Mia Alexandria Gonzalez, Kaitlyn Brown and Colton Brown. She is predeceased by her husband Manuel Gonzalez C., son Manuel Gonzalez and daughters Virginia Gonzalez and Rosa G. Gonzalez. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm in Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista.
