

Alfred L. Pivonka, Sr., 66 of Iola, Texas, passed away Friday evening, January 16, 2015 at the College Station Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 21st at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with Msgr. John McCaffrey and Rev. Henry Stovall officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Rest- Ever Memorial Park Cemetery in Bryan.
Alfred was born January 29, 1948 in Brazos County to Hilda Laging and Jerry L. Pivonka. Alfred attended school in Orange Grove, Texas and loved to work. He started working when he was 14 years old and continued to work hard for 52 years as a self-employed framer building homes. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two granddaughters, Jennifer Brekenfeld and Nicki Pivonka.
He is survived by his wife Mary Pivonka of Bryan; four sons, Lawrence Pivonka and his wife Audra of Grimes County, Bruce Pivonka of Grimes County, Alfred Pivonka, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Bryan, and John Pivonka and his wife Jamie of Plantersville; one daughter Rebecca Pivonka of Bryan; one brother, Harold Pivonka and his wife Patricia of Bryan; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
