

Alice Mae Massey Jones went home to be with her heavenly father on April 3, 2023. Alice Mae was born in Chriesman, TX. Oct 11, 1931 to James William Massey and Molly Louine Massey. She attended school through the 9th grade in Caldwell, TX. Mae grew up in the country life. She milked many cows, churned gallons of butter and gathered dozens of eggs.
She married at age 14 to Doyle Edward Jones in 1945. The settled in Bryan Texas while raising their children. She loved gardening, canning vegetables out of her garden, sewing and most of all “cooking”. Her measuring ingredients was not used with cups or spoons. She would pour dry ingredients in her hand or “pinch” with her 2 fingers and every measurement was perfect. When we would ask for a recipe from mom she would tell us “use a pinch”. We would ask what “is a pinch” every meal she cooked was perfect. Everyone loved her homemade pies which were made with love.
She retired from Bryan Independent School District after 17 years as a cafeteria manager at Johnson Elementary school in Bryan Texas. She was a member of Skybreak Church. She loved her church family. As she entered the church, she would be smothered in hugs and everyone called her “Mama”.
She in preceded in death by her husband Doyle Jones, her two sons Edward Kay and Kenneth Wayne Jones, her parents James and Louine Massey, her two brothers Jimmy and Gene Massey, her two sisters Billie Pavlas and Maxine Durham, her granddaughter Barbie Beal and grandson Marvin “Jr” Jones, and great grandchildren Cody Jones and David Patranella.
She is survived by her four daughters, Linda Beal and husband Wallace, Debbie Hunter and husband Dwain, Patsy Conrad and husband James, Carla Allison and husband William. Her two sons, Marvin Jones and wife Donna. Jimmy Jones and friend Sherry. Her brother Jesse “Butch” Massey and wife Billie “BJ” and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mae was blessed with eight children, thirty four grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be April 5, 2023 at memorial Funeral Chapel Bryan from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held April 6, 2023 at Memorial Funeral Chapel, with a Graveside service following at 3:45pm in Black Jack Cemetery in Burleson County, Texas.
