Betty H. Acosta

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Betty was born September 11, 1929 in Mumford the daughter of Jose and Trinidad (Perez) Hernandez. She retired after many years of service from Crockett Elementary School where she loved being with the children. She enjoyed longtime visits with her sisters. Betty was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patsy Field; sister, Esther Garcia; brothers, Raymond, Frank, Jessie, Raul and Tommy Hernandez.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leon Acosta, Sr. of Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, Leon Jr. and Maggie Acosta of Bryan; sisters, Josephine Garcia of Bryan, Janie Strickland of Lubbock, Angelina Garcia of Bryan and Mariana Esparza of Somerville; brother and sister-in-law, Joe Jr. and Rosie Hernandez of Bryan; grandchildren, Monica Bernal and husband Joseph, Aaron Acosta, Andrew Acosta and Robert Field and wife Theresa; great-grandchildren, Lauren Bernal, Leah Bernal, Jeremiah Bernal, Nathaniel Field, Ryder Field and Gabriel Field; special niece, Janette Lovato; and numerous nieces and nephews.
