Billie Ruth Williams

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29 at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Billie Ruth was born June 29, 1929 in Lockney, Texas the daughter of Johnie E. Williams and Audrey (Lyles) Williams.

Billie Ruth graduated from Portales High School and Eastern New Mexico University. She worked at the Clovis Air Base and then spent most of her career as Office Manager for Yates Petroleum in Artesia, New Mexico. During retirement, she resided in Ruidoso, Deleon, Hill Top, and Bryan. She enjoyed horses, dogs, wood working, and firearms. She taught each niece and nephew how to shoot. She was affectionately known by her family as our Favorite Sweet Old Maid Aunt, Dear Aunt Billie, Granny Billie, and Granny Grunt.

Billie Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Dorothy Hinderliter and Margie Barton; and brothers Bobby Williams and Ted Williams. She is survived by sister Johnnie Mae Pearson of Bryan, 13 nieces and nephews, and other family.
