

Blanche Page Wilson Higgins passed away peacefully on May 23, 2015 at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility. Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Monday May 25 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Page was born on September 17, 1929 in Dallas, Texas. Page grew up in Bastrop, TX and was raised by her loving grandparents Senator Paul D. Page and Mary Higgins Page. She graduated from Bastrop HS and started her College career at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA. She transferred to the University of Texas where she received a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications. Later she earned her teaching certificate and began her teaching career at St. Stephens Episcopal School and later moved to St. John’s High School in Houston. She was well loved by her students and faculty at both institutions and she often heard from former students about their appreciation of her teaching skills. In addition her family was the founding members of St John’s School.
After retiring from St John’s School, she and her husband Ed moved to College Station, TX. She was very involved in the College Station community. She worked at Blinn College and was a member of the tasting team at Texas A& M University.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Garwood Page Wilson and Her father, Joe G. Wilson; her grandfather, Senator Paul D. Page and his wife Mary Higgins Page.
She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Lt. Col. Edwin H Higgins; daughter, Rebecca Kelly; son, Jim Kelly and wife Sonia; grandchildren, Kelly Maude Guettlein, Jacob Patterson, Brianna Garcia, and Kaitlin Page Kelly; the father of her children, James B. Kelly Sr; stepchildren, Jenny Martin and Cindy Mettes; and numerous family and friends.
