

Carolyn (Smith) Browning, 79, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Born in Center, Texas on May 17, 1937, she was raised in Baytown. She married her high school sweetheart and they settled in Bryan to raise their family.
Carolyn was a faithful servant of the Lord, having taught 4th grade Sunday school at Central Baptist Church for 49 years. She was a devout prayer warrior and headed the 24 hour prayer ministry for over 25 years. Carolyn was a constant giver to others, visiting shut-ins and brightening others’ days.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Paul Browning and wife, Brenda; daughter, Marsa Alsandor and husband, Butch; brother, Noah Smith; granddaughter, Brittany Olcott and husband, Jason; numerous family and many dear friends.
A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A funeral service is set for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, at Central Baptist Church in Bryan. Graveside services will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
