

Cecil Mahlmann Smith, 85, entered into rest on March 30, 2011 at St. Joseph Health Center in Bryan. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Rest-Ever Memorial Park. Cecil was born October 12, 1925 in Deanville, Texas, the
daughter of Henry and Tinnie Mahlmann. She was a graduate of Caldwell High School, class of 1943 and Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1946. During her nursing career, she worked for the Comal County Health Department, Scott & White in Temple, Michael E. DeBakey, M.D. (Heart Surgeon in Houston) and several doctors in the Bryan/College Station area. Cecil was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan and was awarded Lutheran Woman of the year in 1969. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Smith; brother, L.D. Mahlmann; sister, Gladys Mahlmann Brinkmann;
and a niece, Glenda Brinkman Broach. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Valerie Smith of Mellionnec, France and Dean Smith of Spring Branch, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Alene & Mark Brown of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Nathan Smith and fiancé Megan Alexander. Jason Smith & his wife, Mercedes, Nathalie Smith, Michael Dean Smith & his wife, Amy and Sabrina Smith; nieces, Bonnie Duddleston, Vicki Greeley, Marlene Brown and a nephew Bill Brown.
