Frances was born on March 14th, 1944 in Rosebud, TX, to Silbano and Juanita Constancio. She was the 2nd youngest of their 7 children. In the 70s, she moved to Bryan, where she built a life filled with love and devotion. There she met and fell in love with the loves of her life: her husband of 19 years, the late Lucas “Cano” Ybarra, as well as Cecilia (“Baby” or “CC”), Yolanda (“Yoli”), and her bonus daughter, Irene. Over the years, her family would grow to include many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.
Frances worked many years as a seamstress at International Furniture and Neutral Posture. She formed lasting friendships everywhere she worked and left a meaningful impression on all who knew her. She was known for her beautiful smile, generous heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Eventually, she retired to devote herself to one of her greatest joys—helping raise her grandchildren.
A gifted seamstress, she had a passion for sewing blankets for her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great grand-children. She would sometimes make them for her friends, all of whom were very special to her. Each blanket had a personal touch and was stitched with love. She enjoyed crocheting and watching her favorite novelas, especially The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal.
Frances loved to dance and could often be found enjoying nights out with her friends, dancing until morning. When she wasn’t on the dance floor, she was happily riding across Brazos County with her partner in crime, Juan Gomez, exploring city after city.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Lucas “Cano” Ybarra; her sons, Marcelino Moreno, and Lucas Ybarra, Jr; her daughter, Sophia Moreno; her parents, Silbano and Juanita; her brothers, Paul, Santos, Tomas, Alex, and Joe Constancio; her sister, Delia Garcia, and her grandson, Juan “JonJon” Benitez II.
She is survived by her beloved dog, Honey, and her cat, Chiquita; her five daughters, Cecilia “C.C.” Benitez (Juan), Yolanda “Yole” Ybarra, Juanita “Gordy” Ybarra, and Lucinda Bridgette Cuevas (Edward); her son, Lucas “Hastur” Ybarra (Fashun); and her bonus daughter, Irene Vivero. She also leaves behind her brothers, Ronnie Constancio and Johnny Savedra; her sister, Virginia Lara; 25 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 21 nieces and nephews; and her cherished best friend, Juan Gomez.
