

Gladys “Nanny” Weakley, 99, of Kurten, passed away at her home November 11, 2010. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 14, until the service time at 2 p.m. at Zion Church of Kurten. Interment will follow at Alexander Cemetery. Nanny was born April 18, 1911 in Prescott, Arkansas, to William B. Adams and Eula Parker Adams. She was the oldest member of Zion Church of Kurten and loved spending time with her family especially all of her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 46 years, Clarence Weakley; brothers, William B. Adams Jr. and Harold Adams; sisters, Ila Mae Segler, Jessie Robinson, Ruby Cutts, and Edna Winkle; and son-in-law Kirby Carter. Survivors include her daughter, Pat Carter; grandchildren, Lindye and Anthony Marino, Ron and Sherry Carter, Janna Carter and Mike Strickland, Lori and Brandon Martinez, all of Bryan; great-grandchildren, GLG Kristy Byer, Kelly Marino and Danessa Bishop, all of Bryan, Gerald Wells and Scott Wells of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; 11 great- great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
