

Grace was born on September 2, 1926, in Bryan, Texas, to Paul Stallone and Vita Scarmardi. In June of 1946, she married Jim Abbate, and together they raised three children: Polly, Bill, and Charles.
A devoted Catholic throughout her life, Grace was a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and found great strength and peace in her faith. She participated in many ministries, including Mother’s Day Out, Altar Society, funeral dinners, and Golden Years. She also held a special devotion to the Blessed Mother.
Grace was known for her kind heart, strong spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and deeply cared for. Her warm smile and gentle presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Polly Middlebrook, Bill Mosley and husband Bobby, and Charles Abbate and wife Phyllis; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Lesha Penny (David), Amber Middlebrook (Augie Meza), James Abbate (Kirsty), Mandy Welch (Will), Becky McGarr (Matthew), Clint Abbate (Haley), and Cullen Mosley (Halley); and Jana Bradley; 21 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Abbate; her siblings: Paul Stallone, Mary Stallone, Sam Stallone, Ross Stallone, and Joanne Stallone San Angelo; and her grandson, Robert Bradley.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 1515 S College Avenue, Bryan, Texas 77801, followed by the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 308 S Parker Ave, Bryan, Texas 77803, with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to home care providers Annie, Marie, Lucy, D’nae and Danny, along with the entire staff at Traditions Hospice, for their compassionate and dedicated care during Grace’s final days.
