

Joseph A. Salamone, 94, of Bryan, passed away Tuesday, April 17 at Hospice Brazos Valley inpatient facility in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 20 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Joseph was born February 5, 1918 in Bugnara, Italy to Carmine and Anna Salamone. He served in the United States Army during WWII and worked for 47 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and will be missed by numerous family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Angela Salamone; his parents; sisters Val Cavallo and Dora Fioravanti; brother Dick Salamone.
Survivors include his son Joe and wife Noreen Salamone of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter Joanne and husband Frank Burdine of Bryan; son Carl Salamone of Atlanta, GA,; brothers Larry and wife Jean Salamone of Conway, PA, Frank and wife Marge Salamone of Conway, PA; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Evie and Bobby Naumann.
The family would like to thank Hudson Creek and Hospice Brazos Valley for the compassion and care they have shown over the years.
