Josephine (Rodriguez) Adams

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday June 22 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m.

Josephine was born September 17, 1933 in Burleson County the daughter of Jose and Sophia (Cantu) Rodriguez. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Josephine was an avid Aggie, Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Steelers sports fan. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and doing word find puzzles, if you did one of her puzzles she would have had you sign it, date it, put the time you completed. Josephine loved spending holidays with her family, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was known for her smothered chicken and chicken and dressing. She enjoyed going to her granddaughter’s softball games to watch them play she was their #1 fan.

Josephine is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Armando Sauceda; grandson, Charlie Alvarado Jr; six brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lee Adams of Bryan; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Sauceda of Houston, Sylvia and Brian Farmer, Linda Contreras, Yolanda and Toby Garcia, Diane and Heron Andrade all of Bryan; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Adams, Robert and Donna Adams all of Bryan; sister, Rita Perez of Bryan; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; her beloved cats and dogs, Kasoodie, Ringo, Sonny, Cesar and Jason.

The family would like to give a sincere thank you to Memorial Hermann Hospital nursing staff, Dr. Richard Smalling and his staff, St. Joseph Regional Hospital staff in 2 Southeast Unit, Home Quest Home Health and their staff, Hospice Brazos Valley, Msgr. John McCaffrey and St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the staff of Memorial Funeral Chapel. Also family and friends for their support, prayers, encouraging words, food and flowers.
