

Leo Mills Cobb, 97, of Bryan, passed away at her home Friday, July 12 2013. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 15 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
Leo was born June 8 1916 in Grimes County to William and Mary Mills. She was a charter member of the library of Central Baptist Church and worked in some capacity for over 40 years. She was also a member of several other organizations such as the Alice Griffin round Table, the Uplifter’s Sunday School Class, LLL groups all of Central Baptist Church as well as JOY group with Calvary Baptist. She worked for the State ASCS Office in College station and retired after 42 years of faithful service. After her retirement she worked for the Bryan Livestock Commission Co. and at a children’s clothing market at the Apparel Mart in Dallas.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Curtis L. Cobb; her parents; siblings, Gloria Mills Allen, Ethel Mills Ross; and brother-in-law, Julian Lawrence Cobb and his wife, Margaret Cobb Coleman.
Survivors include her two sisters, Gloria Mills Allen and Ethel Mills Ross; her children although she had none of her own she looked around and adopted in her heart a number of children that she claimed as her own. Patricia and Lee Burrier of San Antonio, Cheryl and Jon Brandt of Austin; nephew Dr. Chas. Ross and wife Paula of Humble and their children Jeff, Will and Walker; great-niece Lisa Daniel and husband Jon of Dallas and their son Max Elliott, Suzy Featherston and husband Brett of Dallas and their children Lottie, Charlie, and Katie, Cindy Newsom and husband Duane and their children Elliott and Elizabeth; and her dear friends Leon and Nell Sinclair, Martha Novosad and Guadalupe Rubio.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Central Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, Still Creek Ranch or a charity of your choice.
