He was born May 26, 1933 in the Loebau community of Lee County, Texas to Richard and Laura Kasper Fritsche and was one of four children. Leonard served in the United States Army for two years (’53-’55). He returned home to Texas and met the love of his life and wife of 65 years Georgia Ann Sefcik Fritsche. Leonard and Georgia moved to Bryan in ’59 and started their family, three sons, Alan, Kyle and Gary. Leonard was a hard working family provider and lived a life of contentment. He was a serving member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Bryan for his whole adult life. The majority of Leonard’s career was as a route salesman for various beverage companies. He enjoyed many outdoor activities of hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodsman ship. He also enjoyed many competitive games of dominoes with friends.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verie Armstead; brother-in-law, Charles Daggs; nephew, Rodney Fritsche and granddaughter Katelyn Fritsche.
His survivors include his wife, Georgia; brother, James Fritsche; sister, Aline Daggs; his sons, Alan (Heather) Fritsche, Kyle (Brandi) Fritsche and Gary (Verna) Fritsche; grandchildren, Brian (Kristen) Fritsche, Anne-Alise (Alex) Hinkley, Justin (Kason) Fritsche, Matthew (Claire) Fritsche, Jordan (Haleigh) Fritsche, Noah Fritsche, Adeline Fritsche, Eli Fritsche, Rebecca (Michael) Blackburn, Ashlee Smith Holt, Ryan Smith, Erin Smith and Sean Smith; great-grandchildren, Hadley Holt, Caden Holt, Miya Rackley and Reagan Fritsche; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services include visitation on Friday, July 15 from 5-7pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, Texas and funeral on Saturday, July 16 at 10 am at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan, Texas followed by burial at Bryan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Bethel Lutheran Church of Bryan, Texas or The Parkinson’s Foundation.
