Mildred was born March 26, 1922 in Caldwell to parents Steve and Lillie (Martin) Slama. She grew up in Bryan where she attended Stephen F. Austin high school. In Bryan she met and married her beloved husband of 61 years Sam Yeager. Mildred and Sam raised their children in Bryan and she retired after many years of service with GTE. After her retirement she and Sam enjoyed traveling the country with their friends and playing golf. Her family was always her main focus and her grandchildren would all agree she was the best grandmother ever, spending as much time as they could at Nana’s house. Her Sunday lunches were the best ever. Mildred was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Thomas Yeager; brother, Steve Slama, Jr. and granddaughter, Cheryl Lindsey.
