Minnie Ellen Cox Reddell, follower of Christ, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend leapt into the presence of Our Heavenly Father, on February 15, 2025, at the age of 86.
Minnie was born March 2, 1938 in Dawson County, Texas to Aubrey M. and Geraldine Lauderdale Cox.
She was raised on a farm close to the little west Texas community of Key and spoke fondly of those sweet times. One of her favorite youth accomplishments was playing volleyball as a “spiker” for Lamesa High School’s volleyball team. Soon after high school, Minnie married the love of her life and husband of 62 years, Donald Lee Reddell. She was a stay at home mom loving her kids while they were young, later working for Texas A&M University’s Entomology Department and for the USDAs Agricultural Research Service. Her retirement years were spent crafting beautiful quilts, and loving her family.
Her immediate family includes children: Revis & René, Cheryl & Marty, and Steve & Caryn; grandchildren: DeAnn, Tiffany & Harrison, Aubreye (& soon to be Evan), Reed & Lauren, Teal & Wes, Elisabeth, and Alexandra; great-grandchildren: Jude, Elliette, Finley and Wren; and brother: Aubrey Lee.
Minnie gave her life to Jesus when she was about 7 years old publicly following Him in baptism which took place in an old water tank. She spent the rest of her life loving Jesus and sharing of His goodness. Jesus is her strength and the One who carried her especially in recent years surviving the death of Donald and Revis even while fighting a vicious brain disease. Her favorite pastime was reading her Bible and meditating on scripture. We are comforted expecting that she heard the treasured words from her Savior, “well done my good and faithful servant”.
To celebrate her life, a funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 1 at First Baptist Church Bryan, Texas to be followed by a private family burial at Aggie Field of Honor.
