Paul was born December 15, 1947, in Bryan, Texas, to James and Mary Siegert. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 1966. His junior year at Stephen F. Austin Paul met the love of his life, Melinda Melcher. Paul was a self-made man because of his inventive nature. He was the successful entrepreneur of numerous businesses including Farm and Ranch Lumber and Hardware, Municipal Drilling Services, and Brazos Valley Well Service. Paul could be found enjoying the outdoors roping steers, hunting deer, or with a reel in hand. He cherished participating in the local 4-H chapter with his sons and helped establish a youth hunt for underprivileged children in the community.
Paul was the life of the party, always laughing, joking, and teasing. There was never a dull moment when he was around, and he never knew a stranger. He had countless friendships and will always be remembered by his contagious laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, J.O. Siegert. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Melinda Melcher Siegert, his sons Chris and wife Crystal, Mitch and wife Jenny, Ty and wife Courtney, his brother and sister-in-law Bobby and LaVal Siegert, sister and brother-in-law Linda and Sonny Warren, his grandchildren Clayton, Whitney, and Hudson Siegert, and numerous nieces and nephews.
