

Robert Ray Blinka, 90, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Bryan, Texas. Born on January 19, 1935, in Lyons, Texas, Robert lived a long and meaningful life rooted in service, family, and community.
A proud Texan through and through, Robert dedicated much of his life to protecting others. He retired as a battalion chief from the City of Bryan Fire Department, where he served with distinction. His commitment to public safety and leadership left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community he served.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was known for his deep devotion to his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Blinka, and his son Wesley Blinka. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Carol Sands Ray; grandchildren Cody Ray Blinka, Wesley Lynn Blinka, Pamela Sands Agbaghara; Jamie Sands; and numerous great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy.
Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing dominos with family—a pastime that brought laughter and connection across generations. A skilled gardener and cattle raiser, he took pride in working the land and nurturing life around him. His hearty laugh could fill a room and lift spirits instantly. Those who knew him will remember not only that laugh but also the way he would go out of his way to help friends and family alike.
May Robert’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness and dedication for years to come. A Viewing will be held on January 21, 2026, from 05:00 PM to 09:00 PM and his Funeral Service will be held on January 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Chapel 1515 South College Ave. Bryan, Texas 77801.
