Sofia (Guerra) Ramirez

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Sofia was born September 7, 1925 in Rosebud the daughter of Cristino and Jesusita (Mendez) Guerra. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Sofia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Ramirez; infant daughter and son, Rachel and Albert Ramirez Jr.; sisters, Josephine Castro and Amelia Sauceda; brothers, Celestino Guerra and Joe Guerra Sr.

She is survived by her children, Sophie Valadez and husband Robert Sr. of Hutto, Jesse Ramirez Sr. and wife Linda of Bryan, Alice Vasquez and husband Raymond of Caldwell, Steve Ramirez and wife Rachel of Bryan, David Ramirez and wife Judy of Bryan; brother, Charlie Guerra; sister, Caroline Portales; brothers-in-law, Frank “Poncho” Ramirez Sr., Ray Portales, Celestino Sauceda; sister-in-law, Rosa Guerra; 17 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
