Anyone who knew Tommy well, knew that he would do absolutely anything that he could to help others. Being able to help people in their time of need, no matter the situation, was a huge part of who Tommy was and he never asked for anything in return. His kindness and compassion knew no boundaries, including at one point, giving up his own beds for a homeless family who was in need.
Working wasn’t just a job for Tommy but for him, it was something that he enjoyed tremendously. Like everyone else that he came into contact with, his work peers became a part of his family and he treated them as such. At work, there wasn’t anything that he couldn’t do or fix! At home, he showed the same dedication to making things better by manicuring his yard and planting beautiful trees, some of which he named after his beloved grandchildren.
Tommy thought of himself as a “simple man” who loved spending time with his family. He loved his family unconditionally and with his whole heart. Some of the most precious memories were times spent with his family and friends around water, whether it be at the beach, lake or river. He was always up for a good time of throwing horseshoes or frisbees or just sitting around and enjoying his love of music which he passed down to his kids and his grandkids. And oh, how he loved a good motorcycle ride with his boys, especially those that included his youngest son, Jordan!
Preceding Tommy in death were his mother Shirley Gent, step father Ray Gent, father Milton Braswell Sr., sister Deborah Braswell and son Jordan Braswell.
He is survived by his beloved wife “Janny” of 47 years, Janlynn Braswell; his brothers and spouses, Milton “Bubba” Braswell (Sally), Larry Braswell (Jessica) , David Braswell, Alvin “AP” Gent, Jimmy “JR” Gent; and sisters and spouses; Bonnie Greer and Robin Wolfe (Rick); brother and sister in laws, Hubert Havel (Trish), Gwen Atkinson, Hadley Havel (Tracy) and numerous nephews and nieces.
Tommy is also survived by his children and their spouses, Joshuwa Braswell, Jerome Braswell (Michelle), Jacob Braswell (Nicolyn) and Brandalynn Butler (Mark).
