Vanessa Leigh (Thurman) English

Vanessa Leigh Thurman English, age 65, returned to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Vanessa was born on August 9, 1955 in Bryan, Texas to the late Douglas Warren Thurman and Eleanor Marie “Sissy” Regini Thurman. She graduated from Bryan High School in 1974.

Vanessa had a true servant’s heart, spending her professional career in service to others. She enjoyed her time as a student advisor at Texas A&M University, a researcher at First American Bank and as a private caregiver.

Vanessa loved her trips to Oklahoma to visit family and friends at rodeo jackpots, taking care of her plants and animals, especially her beloved “Lucy” and “Gracie”, and spending time with her family and numerous close friends.

Vanessa is preceded in death by her parents Douglas Warren Thurman and Eleanor Marie “Sissy” Regini Thurman and grandparents, Carmello “PawPaw” Regini and Lois “MawMaw” Shanley Regini. Vanessa is survived by her son Doug English and wife Jessica; daughter, Christi English and husband Don; grandchildren, Jamie Magness, Madeline English, Cooper English; great-granddaughters, Paisleigh and Presleigh; sister, Karen Duvall and husband Roy; brother Warren Thurman and wife Jessica; niece Haley Carter Johnson; cousins Rodney and Gardner Rudasil and many extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Alexander United Methodist Church cemetery, immediately followed by a celebration of life at the Wheelock Bloodworth Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Vanessa English Memorial Fund at Prosperity Bank.
